A very nice expansion to a good game. The trading ability is nice, but not revolutionary. To me the biggest change is the introduction of a new resource - tusks - that are great for buying extra civ cards and makes hunting a lot more versatile. Several of the new huts are really cool as well; I particularly like the personal resource mines that you can place three workers on to gain resources at a discount.
After a few plays with the expansion, it seems like the new jewelry resource makes it too easy to get what you need for building huts.
Expansion
2 plays / 3, 4 players
LIKE: It adds some interesting decisions and new huts. Adds another track for variety and end game goals.
DISLIKE: Adds length to the game. I think it makes gold less valuable.
OVERALL: The jewelry resource is interesting, but the rules around it were confusing. I liked it, but would also be ok playing the base game for something quicker. For the record, it is only ONE trade per entire player turn (the less powerful interpretation of the rules). I think of it in terms of substitution instead of trade.
