It’s a much more portable Traumfabrik. I suggest reversing the restrictions on Stars and Supporting Actors (so 0-1 Stars, and 0-2 Supporting Actors) as this better reflects the distribution in the deck.
Fun auction+card game. Artwork is great too.
There's some amusement in getting old names for your movies, but then they disappear once played. So really it's about matching too many symbols together, connected by very standard auctions to move money around. After the title, it felt like the game could've been about anything really. Why is the same movie available for best picture multiple years in a row? Why is there such limited crew available to make anything? It's a quick light game, but I shouldn't be thinking about these questions in the middle. I guess that's because I care so little about what the opponents will do.
Spent all day making a very poor PnP copy just so I could try playing the game. With the right tools and material, I could certainly make a much, much better copy of the game. The game itself is very interesting especially with the closed economy and auction system. Like most games, I think it would benefit from me playing it some more.
