Operation Typhoon

This is really a variant/remake of GDW's old "entry-level" free wargame, Battle for Moscow. There are a couple of rules updates, but this is essentially the same game.

Fun little game. I enlarged the map so it just fit on a piece of card stock, colored the trees green, the rivers blue, what else, worked the forts over a little mounted the map, and laminated it. Made nice thick counters. I have that and decision game's Leningrad together in the Leningrad box. I take it when ever I travel so I'm never with out a game. My wife thinks I'm nuts when I tell her "don't forget this honey". I played a couple solitaire games last time I was in vegas. After which I went to the cassio and won enough money playing black jack to buy a real game. Bought GMT's Typhoon, what a night.

Clearly similar to GDW's game but different enough to make it interesting as a separate game. Nice little filler game. Bit annoyed by the fact that there's no "base level" Soviet reinforcement rate provided.

Excellent rootbeer and pretzels game, better than GDW's similar effort.
