Finally played. In the first game it was a challenge with the 'Carc breaking new placement rules' but I really like that. It turns the game into a fresh direction. Managing meeples is also a whole new challenge. Another fun little puzzle, though I the graphics on the tiles a little busy.

While the tiles look very similar to the original carcassone, this game actually plays pretty differently. Because it is so much easier to close off areas (by placing non-matching tiles), this game plays much more aggressively in our group. I also get a much heavier sense of anticipation/exilaration as the castle walls chase around the perimeter, threatening to close off your work!

It plays best for our group with 3 or 4 people.

My favourite version of carcassonne - pretty, and the walls add a nice extra layer to the game with virtually no rules overhead.

The walled city comes alive on your table. The third round, where walls seem to come out every second turn or so, tends to break the flow of the game. Still worth it for those who love Carc' and certainly better than buying one of the other stand alones.

Third version of Carcassonne; it was a birthday (or Xmas) present for Margo!

Favourite for the whole family. It's simpler than Carcassonne, but still offers plenty of fun.
