Combat Commander: Battle Pack #5 – Fall of the West

Tank rules are interesting but the physical deployment is clunky and would benefit from the inclusion of some actual tank counters for each type of tank as well as an off-board card or something for the tank crew maybe - easily done in C3i I guess.

Until I play more (only 2 plays so far) I think I prefer the non-vehicle games more. Without anti-tank weapons the infantry seems pretty helpless if no heavy MG or artillery is available which is appropriate I guess.

Tactics when you have tanks would seem to become kill the opponents heaviest weapons and then just clean up the ground pounders without much danger. UPDATE: I was wrong - delete this paragraph.

Good job, Bryan et. al., on finding a way to incorporate vehicles!

Bought in 2014.

Three scenarios with Fallschirmjager !! and close run against the belgians. The NOVELTY use of tanks and apcs !! The armour rules are simple and straighforward and of ease implementation. I like them because they give a good flavour to some scenarios BUT CC is a infantry system affair and it should be kept as such. Hope to see in the future better and appropriate counters to the armour elements.

2013/7/10 Depiction of multiple hexes building object in the map 60 and 61 was bad, even if it is based on the actual terrain. Burned on September 30, 2024

Haven't seen the tanks yet; Belgian scenarios are OK.
