Merchant of Venus (Second Edition)

Roll and move, and a bastard to set up each time, but wonderfully fun. The existence of this game always makes me think I like pick up and deliver more than I do in most every other iteration - usually my problem is I'm not playing this.

Have played this game three times now. I love it. Have had fun all three times. Played the Classic version once and the new Standard version twice. I've won both times on the Standard version, and was very much still in the running in the Classic game. I want to get more plays in of the Classic game and more plays with a full complement of people on the Standard game, since I've only played that version with two players. Favorite part, being galactic taxi driver. :)

Have only played standard - like the game, but it's WAY too long. Seems like they "FFG'ed" the game a bit too much. Want to try classic.

First game with 2P took almost 4Hrs. "Fast" game with 2P took 2Hrs.

good fun, pick up and carry

The play I've had is the FFG version of the game - which I enjoyed once and dreaded twice. Here's the main problem: the wheels come off the game. It feels like FFG didn't bother to think about the insane combination of abilities to be gained by players late in play: like being able to skip literally every color on the game board or gaining money without even moving. Insane really. I might try this one more time with the original rules which probably works much better.
