Rules need some editing as some seem incomplete. i.e. submarines and some very unclear. Basic combat matrix needs fixing! However great potential and NWS supports all games very well. If you don't mind making up your own rules to fix a couple of problems this is a good game.

I loved this game/system. This can be played very quickly and tweaked quite a bit if you so desire.
Has the feel of a much-loved project left unfinished.
Rules and components needed the services of a copyeditor -- scenarios have units called out incorrectly and typos abound in the rulebook text. This is indicative of the product's overall courseness. There's a good game in here somewhere, though.
Suggest forgoing the submarine rules altogether, and passing on actions that feature anything less than ten units to a side. Admittedly, the game did deliver some historically viable results in the Coral Sea scenario I played.
Again -- potential here -- but begs a significant amount of baling wire and duct tape on the part of the player.
A very flexible game using good looking cards that recreates all the theaters of naval warfare in WW 2. If you are looking for a fast playing, yet realistic game which you can play larger naval battles relatively quickly, then this is the game for you. It is not as detailed as other systems, but is realistic enough to make it well worth the money. It also has solitaire rules, that work well, which adds to its value! The campaign game of this and WW1 game are tense affairs, moving my rating up to a 8.5
