By far the most charming and unique chess variant I have played!

I don't actually think this is more fun than chess. Mind-bendy, and a neat puzzle challenge, but for an interactive game, I'd rather play chess.

There's a "Shut Up & Sit Down" video that sums up Alice Chess as a game that slaps you both across the face leaving you wondering what the heck just happened, but you want to try again. There is so much of the unexpected that you'll probably find yourself laughing about it. The best analogy I can think of is like one of those bicycles that turns left when you steer right. All the rules are familiar, but almost nothing works as expected.

That being said, Alice is a deep game in its own right with very different tactics from standard Chess. Can be played on a single Chess board by placing poker chips or checkers underneath pieces that have "gone through the looking glass" to the second board. Very good chess variant. I want to try some of the variants on Alice Chess too.

[2014.11.26] This is easily my favorite Chess variant. It's Chess, but the changes make it something else entirely. You could almost change the pieces and re-market it as a different game entirely.

Weird, disorienting, and fun. If you have some interest in abstracts, you must try this.
