Catalonia (fan expansion for Brass)

40+ plays. The canal era offers more variable approaches than the standard map. Highly recommended.

An excellent fan-based variant, that has a distinctly different feel--sort of like the difference between Railroad Tycoon and Rails of Europe, for example. There are a few "gotchas" on the map, along with a few special rules that make for interesting play. Because of the scarcity of coal on this map, it's brutal and brain-melty good. It's just like learning to play Brass all over again! This is especially true if one has become too complacent and familiar with the Lancashire map! It is a solid "9". Kudos to the designer for putting this variant together.

good Clean fun!

Game play wise, there was really nothing to distinguish this from the other maps, but again Catalunya has a very special place in my heart so this was a pleasure to play. Terrasa, Blanes, I wish they had included Girona!
