Best Star Trek Ground combat game out there.
Over-priced for what you get. 2 sheets of identical 80's style counters with simplistic artwork, a card stock map, three b&w cardstock charts, and rulebook in two column type. Very few new rules and units are added to the 1st module: Assault. I can count the new rules on one hand: Ground Weapon Vehicles (essentially mobile artillery), external passengers, two person outposts, and a simplistic ground base diagram.
Units are generic for each side and there is little to differentiate one side from another. Tactics are the same as the units are the same.
Counters are missing unique identifiers which with the amount of hand-written book-keeping is a big miss. SFB had unique identifiers for their counters.
The biggest issue is that there are very few specific rules to tie this to Star Fleet Battles. How do you resolve damage against PFs? What is a ground control center at the scale of this game?
