Vegas Showdown

A lot of fun mechanics here with a great theme. Why did it take me years to get this to the table?!

This game received a lot of table time when we first started playing it. A solid gateway game.

This is one of the unfortunate handful of games we own that require 3 or more players, so I've only played it twice. I enjoyed it both times, but it sits on the shelf way too much.

Upgraded my ranking to a 9.5 The game is very well done and with four players you really have a battle right down to the wire. Nice job by the new Avalon Hill. I replaced the cheap plastic chips with clay ones and now it's a super game. Rules are clear and game play is quite simple.

Not really as much of a fan of this one as I'd like to be. Seems like there is an imbalance in the values of the rooms (Fancy Lounge, I'm looking at you), and being in the wrong place in the bidding order can completely lock you out of scoring the big points. Developing your income/population doesn't really seem all that valuable.

Really great little game - light, simple, but it also makes you think. A wonderful game to introduce new players to sandbox Euro games. Sure, the mechanics are ripped straight out of Amun-Re and Alhambra, and those paper mats are annoying, but a nice game which you can get really cheaply.
