Dogs of War

An excellent combination of design and mechanic. Simple but deep game play at it's best.

--March 2020-- The faction powers in this game vary wildly in power. This game is the perfect example for me of how faction powers undermine a fine game.

That being said, I'm not convinced that Dogs of War would be interesting without the powers.

Definitely needs more balancing for the faction powers or more systems to make the game more interesting.

A mechanically tight game, with a great deal of depth for the relatively simple game-play (choose a side on a battle, place a troop card).

A solid game, but hard to get to the table as it really shines with 5, at 4 its still good but the asymmetry in numbers makes for more interesting fights as things are less likely to end in a 2v2 situation.

Not sure I can justify keeping it as the aftermarket value is so insanely high and sees the table so little.
