I'd like to try this game again without using the Poseidon cards. There was actually a lot I liked about this game, even though it ended up taking a lot longer than it deserved based on its weight. But if there was no way to remove Poseidon from this game, I would never, ever play it again. Way too much "take that" for my taste, which I feel is a cheap and lazy way for a designer to add player interaction to a game.
As it is, I don't think I would want to buy it as I already own 7 Wonders and Seasons which scratch the same itch, but I would play it again if asked.
Rating based on single play (and I lost).
This seemed like a game I should have enjoyed more than I did. I love tableau builders where I can generate synergies, and there is a little bit of that in Elysium. But the primary focus of this game the relatively straight forward set collection. The resource based card drafting and transfer to Elysium (where you lose your card powers, but become eligible for scoring) are solid mechanics that work very well, but at the end of the day I am just collecting sets, which is not terribly exciting. Good game, but not for me.

An excellent set collection game that still feels so fresh after being out for so long and with a lot of variety out of the box since all the decks feel so unique. I wish it got some expansion support but its a great game with gorgeous artwork.
