Bethany were kind of involved with this game early in its development/re-theming. Randy did a great job with this one.
Initially a bit baffling but became more fun as play progressed. Rather chaotic and possibly too random for some.
Easy to learn, plays fast, many paths to victory.
I was originally unimpressed with the gameplay; although really impressed with the design and appearance. My 8 year old daughter wanted to play it and really enjoyed it. There is enough randomness in the gameplay that she won. A lot of effort went into the history mentioned on the cards that makes reading them a fun diversion from playing. Now we play this game often, not going to give this one away.
Tentative first play rating. Elegant game of area control meets set collection. Love how thematic it is. We had a very tight 4-player game: 68/68/67/5x. Those scores makes me think the game is surprisingly well-balanced. Has one of my favorite characteristics of a game: elegance. No fussiness in the components, the rules, or any of it. It's beautiful, the rules are clear and easy to grasp, and the game plays well.
