ORIGINZ: The Superpowered Card Game

Bought on BackerKit, with 'Team' game mat add-on. $60.00 ($40 + $20) Also bought a 'Battle' mat from Evan at FFS.

I so LOVE the art, the idea of the game focussing on the attributes of the Hero/Villain and you get to make up the name, the pre-constructed decks for easy start/play, and the gorgeous playmats! Unfortunately, I was never grabbed by MTG and TCG/CCGs, and so with Originz I sadly still felt that I was just playing cards according to their allocated attributes, and moving cards to and from between decks and places - rather than duking it out with a real super-powered adversary. The operation/effects of the cards didn't seem to reflect the particular character's attributes either. IMO it's an awesome creation by Evan for the right gamers, but not me I'm afraid. [But then, I didn't like Sentinels of the Multiverse either ...].

Great little game well worth giving it a shot. Can't wait to see future expansions.

Quick and tense battling. Easy to pick up, just enough decisions for its time.

Very quick game that should be easy to teach and play. Good art that "feels" comic book-y, and the play is very action heavy and surprisingly deep. A very pleasant surprise.

A great game. As a comic fan, I love the various power sets and the mechanics of the game are easy to pick up. Within a few rounds I was pretty acclimated and felt confident playing. Total fun one on one or playing in teams. Get this game on your shelf!
