Salt is a fine addition that adds a little flavour without changing the game too much. Not a huge fan of the special power tiles, but they do add some variety to an otherwise predictable experience.

The forum cards are pretty "meh" and can be pretty easily skipped (it's a bunch of extra overhead for not that much benefit), but the salt part of the expansion is really fantastic with very little overhead and actively improves the base game. The extra maps are also fine and feel different enough from the rest to make a worthwhile addition to the map rotation.
