Evolution: Climate

Rating based one play with 6 players that seemed too many. It was hard to keep track of powers (and even see them) without asking for each person to explain their situation each round (at least for the carnivore to know who they could eat). Wasn't a huge amount of fun and bad feeling for those who got eaten early - who were the new players and didn't get the cards to obviously protect themselves, so it was definately a game with a learning curve.

Seamlessly adds a new dimension of strategy in the form of climate change. Makes an already good game great.

Demoed this version at a convention with the designer. Adds a lot of depth to the original. I love the original too, but I feel like this takes the game up a notch even higher. This certainly adds some great complexity that may not be ideal for newer gamers. For the sake of the review format, this is not an expansion but rather a different, more complex, version of Evolution. If this is purchased by itself, it CAN be played as the standard version without the climate mechanics. Basically two games in one.
