Bunny Kingdom

Rating based on one play. This was a lot of fun and felt like it had significant depth for a pretty bunny game. Similarities to kingdom builder, but haven’t played that in a while, so not sure how much. Drafting made brought some fun table talk.

Simple rules but difficult choices; Board space is uncomplicated at start but develops quickly; The luck element is strong (it’s a card game!) because you may never get the ‘B7’ card that will connect your 2 kingdoms but there are ways to mitigate or get round this and, in any event, preventing you from getting that B7 card is a legitimate strategy for the other players so the reason you don’t get the card may be down to their good play rather than your bad luck

I traded Neanderthal for this and the kids love it. Winning is mainly about getting good parchment cards it seems, so there is a heavy dose of luck of the draw, and the end-game scoring is tedious. It's not an elegant design by any means but it is certainly a competitive game that rewards repeated play through knowledge of the deck, but many games that do that same thing are more enjoyable for me than this one is.

My rating is probably exaggerated, but I just love playing this game. Such an eye candy and a fun "take-a-break" game in between heavy games.
