Victory At Sea Redux

PnP, but a really heavy one, with a lot of things to print.

I really like the theme, and the idea seems to be interesting, but it will take a while to assemble.

Yet to assemble (rating based on first impressions).

PnP but very heavy game...

I might raise my rating if this plays well (8 for the effort so far).

UPDATE: This is a heavier Victory at Sea, but vastly superior. Let's be honest, War at Sea usually devolved into Jutland 1939 and the Allies won almost all the time. Here they have more areas to cover, u-boats are better handled, and the optional rules add reality to a rather unreal game. The addition of raiding, air raids, and other goodies from Victory in the Pacific is a much needed boost.

All in all it is a better game than the orginal Victory at Sea, not just an uneven team up of a classic (Victory in the Pacific) and a "fun but dumb" game (War at Sea).

But make no mistake. This one is pretty meaty, but with the epic scope it is warranted. All around, this is the game I have been wanting for years.
