A must have for anybody looking for some cool poker variation or anybody planning on hosting a poker (or any gaming really) night. Humorous prose makes a good thing even better.
A nice collection of poker games, many traditional, and some bizarre. See Tom Jolly's archive from the LASFS for even more dealer's choice games (http://tinyurl.com/ccqlv).
If I ever get through all 200 games I will probably want to go back and try them all again. This book is pure genius and is going to make poker nights a blast. Review to follow.
An entertaining book. Great illustrations from Foglio, amusingly written introduction to the games, and even a short section on strategy. Some of the poker variants are great, others are pretty awful (and the authors are kind enough to point out the awful ones). My nickel-ante group enjoys playing Anaconda, Follow the Queen, and Chicago, but hates Baseball / Midnight Baseball / Midnight Baseball of the Living Dead. We never have played Frankenstein, although it looks interesting.
Great fun when brought to the table. Very fond of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly". Watching the faces of everyone at the table when you call out the game "Brian Snoddy's Midget Porn" is worth just buying the book!
Bring some fun in your friendly poker games. Most variants are for Stud-poker.
It's a fun book if, like me, you like your poker thick with crazy variants.
