Pax Renaissance Expansion

Apostasy mechanic seems cool but swingy. more cards always welcome but i worry the amount of cards dilute the deck and make some of the more essential one shots like Coronations less likely such that it can make the game a lot more chaotic and less predictable.

Pax Porfiriana is a game of gaudy excess in most senses. over 200 cards cards with only 70-100 cards in each game no two games are ever the same and skewed decks (low or high on key types of cards such as headline, troop, enterprise or orange/black cards) can create a very different game so you cannot just adopt standard strategies, you need to adapt to what you are experiencing. Also there are alll sorts of wacky sounding cards that can be pointless on some games and seem gamechaningingly powerful on others. Cards like "Trash all enterprises in USA, no more enterprises may be played in USA" Pax Ren without this expansion lacks the excess. With the east draw deck you will have 28 out of 35 in a given game, so there is still plenty of variety but not an excessive amount. This expansion does not give the same breadth of the original Pax but it is a more complex beast of more moving parts. This expansion gives you all the breadth you could want along with lots of fun, crazy powers. .. Although beneath the surface if you ever get a good amount of cards in your east or west tableau then you can get mega powerful and game changing combinations with just the base game. If you want balance and predictability then you need to be careful bringing this into the game and just put a couple of like for like card swaps, if like me you like the chaos and lack of benefit from "learning" the cards , like fun, interesting powers with no rules overlay then go for this.... Also bringing in something like strife certainly enhances the game.
