Cards are great and add a lot of cool things to the game to spice it up. Only issue (and why I didn't give it a 10 like the base game) is that the cards have a glossy finish and different thickness than the thinner, matte cards from the base game. Makes it very obvious when you will be drawing a card from one of the expansions versus the base game. Not a major issue, but one that we shouldn't have to deal with.

Good expansion and cheap to own. With a game like Tyrants where the synergies between the two decks you're playing with is highly influential, going from 4 to 6 decks really expands your game options. I don't think the decks are too much better than the base game, but might give them a slight edge; devouring for benefit and forcing discards are cool abilities. It's a little annoying that the cards have a different finish, so they feel very different, but it doesn't really affect gameplay.
