A Knizia attempt at deck-building although it's as much a race game. El Dorado plays really quickly, turns are short but decisions certainly aren’t obvious and there is even a bit of blocking possible as you get in the way of other adventurers who may, for example, want to cross the same river as you. Recommended as a nice quick filler with a bit of ‘meat’ to it.
One of funniest deck building games that I ever had played. It is easy to learn, turns are quick and playtime is reasonable. The deck is renewed often, so it really matters, what cards you are going to purchase. Plus, only imagination is the limit for creating custom map boards. Especially with Dangers & Muisca, you can add more challenges to the map, e.g. artifacts makes map elements become more essential.
Absolutely LOVE. I made 70 custom maps in the games file section. We have way over 200 plays of this game.
Enjoyable and accessible race and intro deck builder!
Just worse Dominion.
