Highly recomended, very strategic but simplified. Art is awesome, i love it.
Great game made by a great person. Addictive, strategic, very cool art ... I love!
Easy to learn, hard to master. That is what you will find in this awesome card game where you will have to take advantage of the weak points of the rival to win the game. This is not similar to any other card game I've played before, its mechanics make each match different. I'm gonna enjoy this game for long, get some friends and start fighting for Terra. You won't regret. My conclusion is that if you like this kind of games just give it try!
This boardgame is fantastic because:
- Have different factions. Each of them with different player style.
- Battlefield. You need to move your troops carefully if you want to win
- Heroe cards are amazing because this change totally the player style of your deck.
Un juego de cartas totalmente recomendable y distinto a los otros juegos tipo magic que hay.
Its an amazing game. Try to play
The appeal of Warlords of Terra is that it feels like a 'pure' card game, while including a non-gimicky battlefield where cards move and interact.
Currently there is a starter deck and a first expansion for each faction, after extensive play with this card pool I can say:
The game has a nice learning curve, after you know the cards, it opens up as a really deep game that requires of strategic thinking, both in a classic card-game style and with the added complexity of the battlefield.
The core mechanics are in general solid, and provide a good foundation where the game can grow on. I would like to emphatize that the developer team has no thrown 'crazy' mechanics to abuse the battlefield aspect of the game, but have rather built a nice foundation to be able to explore this new dimension as expansions come out. This, in my opinion, makes me trust they will be able to deliever expansions without the problems they usually pose in card games, such as power-creep or similars.
The game suffers from 'shallow-card-pool' problems, as there is currently just one expansion out, this means some strategies still lack cards to make the decks less disperse, but again, this is a just a matter of time and I have confidence in the team. There are between 2 and 3 archetypes per faction, and the main card-game archetypes are all represented (there's viable aggro, midrange & control, even some combo-esque builds)
