Flash Point: Fire Rescue – Tragic Events

Tragic Events is a nice upgrade to game play, probably wouldn’t play without. My plays will be recorded on the main FPFR page.

I never have any problem with hotspots. Even if hotspot got out of control, when resolving a series of them, at least the resolution is fast. This expansion added a lot more varieties and surprises, however, it slowed the game down a lot as players needed to read and resolve the events and flare up managements. Many of my players found the game became slow and boring as they waited a long while until the turn is back to them.

One possibility to keep the game in faster pace, that is to reduce the amount of flare up cards. But this would make a few new unit types became essential. Resulting the original unit types become obsoleted.

Perhaps the new idea introduced has fixed some problems, yet it also broke some good stuffs from original game. Probably need house rule to fix it.

Makes the game a lot better in my opinion.
