Good, inexpensive and simple Miniature game. Ideal for beginners. Includes solo rules. Designer did publish expansions for free.
This is really one of the best miniature rules I've played, with great solo rules and a campaign system too. And from the Author many free updates and new ideas already published.
Initial impressions: inexpensive and commendable indy project. Unfortunately, it doesn't click for me. There are positive aspects: it seems functionning, all the essential ingredients are there considering these are "micro rules", there's a cool magic system, lots of enemy types and a neat if somewhat aimless campaign system. After reading the short rules a few times I was surprised that I couldn't quite get the hang of it. Character creation was fun. But my first Scout scenario was a slog: the token activation system seemed innovative at first but actually bogged down the pace tremendously. For a wargame, models have tons of HP to keep track with modifiers to damage on every successful hit. I couldn't figure out how VPs worked. Also, the mounted rules I just skipped entirely, seemed way unecessary, plus who has models that can actually dismount? In all, it's a worthwhile effort in a very niche genre and it could be worth pursuing with houserules.
