I like these rules, but I am no expert on medieval warfare. Your troops do not always do what you want.
As good a rules set as I have seen for medieval conflict simulation using miniatures. DBM and DBA may have their strong points but this set of rules is better in some aspects, especially in command/control and morale which (rightly) take center stage here. If I had a complaint, then it would be the several gaping holes and uncertainty caused by the somewhat too skimpy treatment (the rules are only about 10 pages long!).
Pretty good rules and a nice, short intro to the period and to some of the major battles. They finally diverge from their standardized musket-era rules, which is to the good, and try to capture that supposed impetutosity and irrationality of mediaeval warfare. I strongly suggest playing the Mediaeval Baebes in the background.
Good and quick rules, well portraying command problems. McFarlane's book is always a good buy, complete with history, rules, scenarios and armylists.
Rated as a sourcebook. Rules not yet played.
Plays well and the booklet is well put together (as with all the CWG productions).
