Very simple and learnable worker placement game. It works as filler, but there's not much of content, so it might turn boring. Good for any player amount, but best with 4 players, 2 players might be too peaceful.
For sale, PM me. My first initial rating was in 2020, I didn't have a lot of people to play with, so I sold the game. After watching Moana 2 I bought the game again, this is kind of rare for me to buy a game back after selling it.
I'm starting to appreciate Good game design more, to the point it trumps whether I like the style\theme
The most point salad of Knizia's games I have played. The many different objectives to pursue at once can be overwhelming, but this is balanced out by how simple and clean the core mechanism of tile laying is. There is a neat twist of the game being divided into two eras, where the huts you lay out in the first era establishes your positioning for the second era. Reminds me of Brass which is a good thing.
Would expect no less from Knizia - this is a shockingly interactive tile-layer that takes five minutes to teach and plays in two halves, with an identical scoring round after every half where multiple scoring criteria are evaluated and scored. While at first, the scoring appears a bit point-salad-y, you'll see no later than the first scoring round how everything ties in together beautifully.
The positioning of every tile is loaded with ramifications - will it set you up well to acquire the majority in the area you're looking for, while simultaneously dissuading your opponents from challenging you there? Do you engage in a game of chicken with an opponent for a coveted resource, or to perhaps deny another player the chance to set foot in an area and increase their connected chains of tiles? The game demands that you fight and reasonably succeed on multiple fronts simultaneously. Just brilliant.

Underrated gem! Trully agressive but also too simple. One of my favourites Knizia's "family" games.
Very enjoyable and at times cut throat little euro. Game always evolves in enjoyable ways with rules that are simple enough for anyone to pick up.
Scoring does upset the flow and I am realising that this is what stops it hitting the table more, im just not a fan of spending 5 minutes scoring at the end of an otherwise brisk experience
Not sure how much replay value this has, but enjoyed the first couple play through.
