Fast play oriented rules based on Fantasy Rules! by Chipco. Its a simple rule system but highly customizable. Second edition solved some of the issues that the first one had and the Little Wars TV crew have published several campaign and scenarios for the game. Really good system if you wish to play massive battles. The only downside I can think of, its the high number of elements required to play; under 30-50 elements per side you'll rarely feel the pressure of the moral clock going down and even though the game is still fun and feels nice.
Excellent fast-play Ancients miniatures rules for the Classical era, from the Peloponnesian War to the Fall of Rome. AoH is fast, furious, and tremendously fun to play. Highly recommended!
I havent been so enthused by a set of rules for a long time. There are nicely written, simple, colourful and pitched at the right level of information without over padding. Yes there are some tiny things that maybe could be clarified (like square bases work best in reality) but the fact that even I can read through them once, get the gist of them and want to play them immediately gets my vote. Oh and a big shout out to the guys for actually referencing the original ruleset and paying royalties....superb
Great game! reminiscent of DBA in a lot of ways but able to understand the rules without any trouble.

Very good rule set
Easy to pick up, realistic mechanics of ancient warfare.
I don't understand the high ratings for this game. It is a big disappointment to me--a board game masquerading as a miniatures game. Overly simplistic mechanics, that nevertheless invest in an unnecessarily complex terrain creation feature, and fluff regarding personalities of commanders.
The recommended bases are square--most miniatures players don't use square bases. Besides, the game does not have a realistic feel. In addition, combat is a bit too luck dependent. For a game that focuses on a specific ancient period and particular armies, I expected more period-specific game play.
Very approachable set of rules that is fun to play and captures the feel of the period.
