I have one of each. 60 pieces total.
Musketeer Chess is the perfect Chess Variant. Still Chess but with new elements brought to the game when chosing and introducing 2 new pieces among a wide choice (10 available pieces that are: Leopard, Cannon, Unicorn, Fortress, Spider, Amazon (or Dragon), Archbishop, Chancellor, Hawn and Elephant). More pieces will be available in the near future (Lion, Lioness, Bear, Griffin, Figural Dragon, Figural Spider etc.). Also available are the NextGen Pawns: 7 alternate design and eventually alternate rules for the Pawns.
The Musketeer Chess pieces can be also used to play various other Chess Variants or games. This big variety in pieces is interesting.
Black and White have almost equal chances in winning (see www.musketeerchess.net for explanations about subtleties compared to chess).

A neat way of incorporating high powered chess pieces into a game without undermining basic chess strategy or overwhelming the relevance of minor pieces. There is a good variety of pieces to make every game different.
All of the pieces are worth more than a rook; I'd prefer some lower powered pieces in the mix. My favorite pieces is the Hawk, which is one of the weaker ones (thought still quite strong). However, the game does regulate their entry onto the board in a way that make that ok.
Some of the pieces are a bit too arbitrary in movement, and I'm not a fan of the ones that are strictly better than other Musketeer pieces. That feels like a missed design space opportunity, even though it is fine for balance.
