Expect Delays

Expect Delays is a head-to-head game about subway operators sabotaging their rival. It's an odd duck, upside-down in its gameplay and messaging.

This game gets style points for being a compact game with the board as part of the inside of the small box. There is definitely some take that in here but since it's a 2p only game and moves at a brisk pace, it feels okay. One minor downside is the constant shuffling of the communal deck, but it's a necessary evil because the shared deck forces players to watch what cards are being taken out and plan accordingly. This is a very cute, abstracted version of the NYC subway and I definitely want to play it some more.

Learned at PAX Unplugged 2023. Would buy but I'm not sure others would play with me
