Superb. Dungeon Crawler finnally as it should be, with all the ingredients you would expect but surprisingly easy rules and mechanics, that work like a breeze. Great narrative, original and interesting lore and world building…so many things to say. Hopefully more people find it and make it more popular, because I al in for whatever adventures Agemonia proposes in the future!
Realy good game, but not for me.
Q1 2023
A dynamic campaign game of expanding scenarios, interesting and deep story, and cleverly mitigated dice rolling combined with stamina chip mechanic. The game is a pleasure both in scenario adventuring and the city steps between them. Excellent so far ( 10 scenarios in).
Initially I was not interested in the game based on the overall looks of it, but after reading a bit more details, story, mechanics and design of the game, it revealed to be a hidden diamond, a clever and beautiful game in midst of many, many dungeon crawlers trying to reach greatness.
Not out
Based on the hype, I expected more, but a 6 it is ... OK will play if in the mood. We gave this one a good spin ... getting to level 4, a total of 19 play sessions, nearly 60 hours. There are a lot of innovative encounters and it isn't all about "killing all enemies", but it just wore thin for me after a while. The story was hard to follow, the amount of "stuff" in this game is absurd and it is hard to story efficiently despite the inclusion of many different trays for the pieces. I hated the artwork, reminiscent to me of The Lorax with all the psychedelic colors and blends, and abstract shapes. The rulebook also did not come with an index which is absolutely unfathomable given the amount of information. In fairness, they released one after the fact, but why not in the original rulebook??
Again, decent game but I am very glad after nearly 60 hours, to play something else.
Overall I enjoyed the game. Interestingly described world with non-standard races. The main quest is ok, but besides it there are several opposing factions, heroes' personal quests, town and world events that leave a nice impression. As you play, you'll get different keywords that can unexpectedly give you an advantage during missions. Also often during skill tests having certain heroes, professions, classes, or even gear can give bonuses, and that's downright very cool. No two missions in the game are the same. On the one hand this is very good, but on the other hand not all of them can be liked. I for one don't really like the overly puzzle-like missions with undying enemies. Compared to the narrative part, the combat system is pretty good at most. There were games where I enjoyed the battles much more. Nevertheless, playing as four heroes is quite challenging: in the first half of the game, my heroes often died or were close to dying. In addition, the mission timer also adds to the difficulty, and it was far from easy to explore all the points of interest on the map. I definitely don't regret going through the game, but mechanically the game didn't interest me to try going through it again with other characters.
