Fairly light game, seems like the main strategies are actually very simple, but optimising the layout of your islands is the key to the game. Seems like the bonus tiles (which we didn't use) would significantly increase the game weight.

I have soft spot in my heart for vikings, yet had yet to find a viking themed game that I really love. Then I met this game, adequately named "Vikings". It's worker placement, and tile laying, and solitaire packaged in a point generating versus game - but I like it. It's simple and elegant and comes with an additional expansion you can add in when the vanilla game gets stale. For me, this is one I love to play every year.

About one hour game play.

We love these mid-weight 'classics'. Recently upgraded rating for 8 to 9! Yes its that good for a quick match. It's not perfect but getting lots and lots of play!

Unusual and interesting. Works with 2 and plays fast.Possibly the least believable theme in the borad game universe.

Enjoyable game and quite a challenge with two players.

Interesting combination of pseudo-auction, worker placement, and tile-laying puzzle. The black warriors and the blue fishermen seem disproportionately valuable compared to the others. Light and fun.
