I have played this game a couple of times and am looking forward to trying it more in a classroom setting. I am a huge fan of anything which can gamify learning, and this one does it very well!
Pair this little gem with a copy of The Phantom Tollbooth and you are going to be set for some fun…and learning. The game is tiny but fun. It can be pretty competitive at times. You’ll need to find the balance between helping your own spell and attacking your opponent’s.
This one breaks the mold of educational games. it presents a game that is fun that also happens to teach math.
This game is more than just playing with numbers! It is well developed and the game art is charming. With D&D having such resurgence these days, this can be a great learning tool into RPG games.
Fancy a fun and competitive game where you immediately train your mental arithmetic skills? Then this is really something for you! In Mathemagician's Duel you try certain spells to defeat your opponent. Magical Strenght to decrease until he has nothing left and has lost. Everyone chooses a spell from 3 spells that he places face up in front of him. It has a number that you have to get to complete your spell. You do this by making a sum with the Magical Energy (numbers) and the Magical Symbols (pluses and minuses) cards. On your turn, you place one of your cards on yourself or the other. As soon as you have reached the target number, you cast your spell, your sum is checked and your opponent gets the number of points in minus with his magic power. Then you choose a new spell that you place face up in front of you. A sum is only complete with the minimum number of number cards indicated on the front of your spell card. If you have double the number of cards in your sum that is needed for your spell, you may remove a number and an adjacent symbol to change your sum and possibly get your spell at once. We think this is a surprisingly fun game and your mental arithmetic is immediately put to the test. The thwart content is very high, because you can put exactly the wrong cards to the other to make his sum more difficult to get. The design is also funny and it has a fun theme!
Great educational game!
Excellent game! I know this is geared towards kids, but I was surprised how much fun it was as an adult.
Kids can actually learn and practice math in a fun way that doesn't feel at all like school.
This is a great game to play with your school-aged children. As a mom, I'm happy to spend gaming time with my 9 year old while he also improves his math and memory skills.
The theme of combining math and magic is fantastic and the artwork is very appealing and fun. Totally recommend!
