This is a really interesting game. The victory conditions seem odd until you realize that the way to accomplish them is by doing what the Union did historically. It's simple and elegant all at the same time and works well. Fun game when you are by yourself with an hour to kill.
Nice effort.
IoS version. Good value. Another interesting Kershaw solitaire game. My first strategic ACW game, although I own a few tactical games. Not being American I had very little knowledge of ACW and what I had was biased to Lee vs Grant / Gettysburg etc. I didn’t realise how there was so much more to the conflict and so many theatres. So very educational for me and a fun solitaire gaming experience. I guess probably get 10-20 plays out if it with the variants, all for a couple of quid.
Based on two plays, and given that it's a solitaire game, I'd give it a BGG rating between 5 and 7. Some of the rules work very well, others are fussy. I think the western part of the board should be truncated (keeping the west side of the Mississippi though, for Kirby-Smith to threaten), the tribal actions skipped. See my session report for detailed opinions and pics.
