Got to play the prototype with my friend Aron West and enjoyed it

I got to playtest this game at an event. It's a deck builder and territory game on an epic scale. The game lasts for three rounds with in-between scoring of territories. The map itself is designed to be tight and creates a lot of player interaction. I only played 2 of 3 ages, but I really enjoyed it. One thing that stood out was that each faction seems to have cards in the market that are cheaper for them to obtain. This creates a real feel that each faction has its own personality and allows for testing out different strategies. I'd love to play this again.

I don’t play many area control games but got to try this at a con and this was a fun one. Played the base game without any of the more advanced setup. I think adding in these elements would bump up my rating, as those look like they’d spice up the gameplay/interactions.

I played Space War twice so far and very much enjoyed both plays. Definitely would like to play more to explore different species cards and finally figure out how to get mineral planets early in the game and keep control from other players.

Got a chance to try this game out at Pax Unplugged. As a Tyrants of the Underdark junkie, this game was on my radar for a while now due to the similarities. When I finally got a chance to play, I wasn't ready for all the differences, including the fact this game was close to a 4x game on top of everything else.

The deckbuilding, modular boards and setup, scout ships, and the switchable special tile were all hits with my group. I really liked some of the ideas, such as 4 of the ten starting cards had a built-in feature that lets you mill one out of deck each round, and that money you generate can carry over to the next round. Making big plastic army of ships was fun, even if they all get blasted to smithereens by your opponents just a few turns later. Luckily, it wasn't very punishing to have to build back some of my ships, and I felt like I still had a chance to win even after my ships got squished like a bug by my opponents.
