Hirelings are absolutely essential for a two player game of Root - I would literally strongly advise against playing it with two otherwise. With Hirelings, though, 2p Root is amazing! 10/10 expansion.

Great addition. I'm amazed how much they balance the game. The box is good for storage, but as long as I can put them in the base game, they stay there.
