Railroad Ink Challenge: Solo Board

It has Challenge cards included, I like the tree expansion because it just adds points and looks nice. This very just adds so much to the scoring and overall look of the game. I will say it adds some additional rules that is a lot for newbies.

The 'reroll' mechanics featured in the Solo board are meant to remove randomness and allow sensible personal score/leaderboard keeping. However i feel they are exceptionally 'gracious'. You start with 3 rerolls of /any/ amount of dice, which can be used whenever/however you want, and can get 3 more by routing over their icons on the map. Given that a game of Railroad Ink with an expansion often ends up with a reduced timer of 6 rounds, basically you could reroll any/all of your dice each round, or all your round dice up to SIX times. Some expansions are better than others with rerolling, but some become trivial with rerolling.

I think the bones are good, but i'd recommend house rules. Either each use becomes for a single die and you can change its facing to whatever you want, or only use the 3 'unlockable' rerolls on the map. Anything to kind of reel in the amount of control you have over the dice.

For me, a must-have addition. RRI challenge is a really neat solo experience. The additional building and the possibility to reroll dice constitute a simple twist, but a good one. For 5€, this was a no brainer.
