So glad I bought this on KS. Great package, fun game, characters feel different. Haven't tried it further than one on one battles, but I like how those plat a lot.
Really fun game. Nice and simple good for casual game nights or when you just want something to throw down for a little bit.
Really good. It is very simple, but having 8 characters to choose from makes for some interesting plays. It is fast and so far plays well with 2 and 3 (have yet to play with 4). The heroes seem well balanced as often the games end in a close final round. The production is amazing and having the trays for all the heroes is great - albeit with a huge box. For a dice and card combo attacking game, fantastic! And for a speedy game with sufficient variety, it is a sure winner for me.
Is good but typically when in the mood for this kind of game would play king of tokyo because I usually have more than 2 players.
The gameplay was very fun but I experienced a few drawbacks. The rule book says this game is fast paced but definitely not your first couple of plays. There are lots of abilities and cards to read. There are a lot of little unique timing issues from the types of damage to multiple rounds of card play. Some characters might might not be as fun to play against because they limit your rolls. For example scarlet witch makes it so almost every turn you are rolling one less dice so big moves are out of the question. Obviously being a Yahtzee game there is randomness and I’m not sure all of the characters as a whole are balanced because any strong roles really can’t be countered.
That said the experience was fun. I appreciate the marvel theme which gives more context to the characters vs the more abstract original. When you do pull off big moves it feels rewarding because you are layering some combos for bigger size plays.
Some characters are a bit fiddly with tokens that get added and removed as well adjusting both dials each turn. I’m summary it’s fun but no fast paced and let down a bit because of all the little things you have to keep track of. Speed reading can’t really solve any of that.
Yahtzee with a theme. Roll dice, 2 rerolls, see what you can do this turn. Eventually devolves into drawing 1 card per turn and hoping. Since every character is wildly different, each time you end up having to learn that game's rules (the characters' rules for that game) because they are critical and different. Also a bit long for what it does.
Not a bad game per se, and the theme is strongly connected with the mechanics, but ultimately it comes down to rolling dice and hoping. Bleh.
Absolute FUN!
This game rocks. Serious. Simple and play very fast and smooth. My 13 old love this one.
