Review circa 2016. Most or all of the content in this book has been re-produced in more recent products, most or all of the ships are in Booster#92, likewise the tactics and scenarios are likely reproduced in their respective products as well so it is for all intents and purposes redundant.
This book has been very much anticipated by me since the game series is in urgent need of good and working scenarios but the result is very annoying. The Scenarios are mainly untested conversions from old SFB scenarios. Some dont work with the FC-rules set as initially intended. Some of them are made unplayable by technical errors. I hope there will follow a comprehensive Errata soon. I recommend to read cktenhoffs review. Its absolute complete regarding the content of the book. But it seems it isnt based on playing the scenarios. Otherwise i cannot explain how someone could ignore all those bugs which make part of them unplayable.
Nothing in here is absolutely essential, but there's a lot that's useful for a pretty low price: an up-to-date (at the time of publication) master ship chart, a consolidated set of rules clarifications/updates (also online), a decent tactics article (on pursuit courses), and a passel of scenarios (although many? most? all? are reprints). For $12.95, though, it's a good value.
Very useful booklet -- it pulls together lots of indices, offers a few articles, and it introduces new scenarios.
Reminds me of the old scenario books for SFB.

A good collection of Scenarios, and the SSD's are quite interesting, but fact that it's in black and white, and requires the whole making-copies thing makes the whole SSD provision seem more like SFB than ever.
Probably would have been better to stick to the scenarios and other content, and leave the SSDs to be provided in something like boosterpacks, or as they are, in colour in the free Comunique-newsletter.
More scenarios are a good thing, but this whole product is kind of a mess in its content and organization.
