Impeccable production, and dense, multithreaded narrative. If you like the theme, there's lots of it. The combat / diplomacy system is a bit too puzzle-y for me. Also, I spend an awful lot of time flipping back and forth in a big book, instead of looking at the board or cards; I'm learning that I prefer games where the narrative is more emergent from the components. It's not a bad game, but I don't think it will become a favorite for me personally.
Amazing game, i have a blast going through the story which is very well written. Gameplay is easy to pick up and so far (Chapter 5) very satisfying. Components are top notch with one attention point regarding mini that may be a bit difficult to paint due to too many details which are very small ro identify properly.
I was impressed by the easiness to install and save gamestate which is a huge plus
The voiced application is also very well done.
Excellent reimagining of the Tainted Grail experience. Smoother play than the original. Story is solid dark fantasy, very enjoyable, keeps you interested to learn more about the world. The story journal is massive!
Interesting, archetype-breaking character designs. Would have loved to read a bit more of the characters' backstories and abilities before starting, but more should be revealed later in the story, I imagine. Love the number of unlockable secret cards in the game, a whopping 300 cards, more or less!
Definitely the best entry point to Tainted Grail's campaigns (standalone story, different locations altogether, no need for previous experience). Less repetitiveness than the original, if that worries you, or you had bad experiences with.
Off to a compelling start. If you have this game and are intimated about starting the campaign, then the Open and Play guide is excellent at making learning the basics very easy and smooth.
