My Shelfie

Easy, fun, lightweight game. Like a faster Azul, but not quite and enjoyable.

A gamer's Connect 4. Multiple scoring objectives and a neat tile draft make this one stand out. Enjoyed this a lot more than I expected.

An enjoyable tile-placement game, Calico meets Connect 4. Much better than expected, as it can get pretty addictive. There's some interesting decision-making in the balance of speed vs. quality and watching the other player to determine what the pace is going to be. You can win with an incomplete shelfie or lose with a full one. How easy it is to combine goals in a particular game will really vary and some personal goals are harder than others (forcing your grid into very tricky configurations, esp. if you have certain goals). After five plays, it is beginning to feel samey to me and I'm not sure there's more depth to discover. Recommended as a good family weight game, not sure if it holds its own against Calico / Verdant / Cascadia / Azul / Sanssouci / Sagrada. Those seem to stand up to more plays and I have them all, so probably no real room for this one.

Preliminary rating after one play.

Man müsste doch mal wieder aufräumen. ? Also alles ausgeräumt und dann alles wieder schön einsortiert. Aber nicht einfach so. Man möchte dann schon den persönlichen Vorlieben folgen und aber auch vielleicht die zwei allgemeinen Aufgaben erfüllen. Und am besten alles auf einmal.

Was ich auf der Spiel 2022 in Essen als „My Shelfie“ mitgenommen hatte, kam nun am Spielewochenende auch in der deutschen Ausgabe „Total Regal“ in mehreren Runden auf den Tisch.

Fazit: Was aufgrund der Regale zuerst an ein neues 4 gewinnt erinnert, ist aufgrund der Aufgaben und schönen Gestaltung ein spaßiges Spiel für Zwischendurch mit ziemlichen Knobelfaktor.
