I LOVE Time's Up! As of today, it's my number 4 game of all time and I have played it hundreds of times. Due to this, it is only natural I also like its expansions and spinoffs. I have tried to hunt down as many versions of the game as possible, so I acquired this one as soon as it became available.
This new edition adds new names to the mix, but I think it also kept lots of old names, so this isn't good if you are planning to use it as an expansion. On the other hand, if you are new to the game, this edition is great.
If you want to read what I think about Time's Up!, you can do it under its entry here in BGG. As a summary, I think it's the best party game out there. It is hilarious and we play it often. The game consists of 3 or 4 rounds in which teams try to get as many cards as possible. Each round is harder than the previous one, but all rounds are played with the same cards, so memory plays an important aspect in the game (I love this). I love it even when we are 3 or 7 players.
On the bad side, the box is huge for what comes inside. It comes with an insert that's useless. Also, the deluxe edition came with an electronic timer, but this isn't a big issue.
I plan to play this version A LOT.

The game is incredible - the production of the 21st anniversary edition is super annoying (cards edges are too sharp, the box is in a weird shape that is not easily storing the cards or helping manage the game). But having said that - one of the best party games, BECAUSE of the references created during the game, even in the same round when there's a name many teams couldn't guess but one or more are anxiously awaiting to "get that one". Really great.
I was surprised how much I found I enjoyed this game. I think it's because of a few really big strengths:
- Easy to learn
- Fits many group sizes
- Very little downtime or boredom
- Game quickly promotes conversation and laughter
- Can be played with gamers or non gamers equally
My only caveat with this game is that the titles on the card's will become outdated over time and so you will need to purchase updated copies every once in awhile. Or if you play it excessively you will start seeing old cards again and again.
Otherwise, I think this game has singlehandedly gotten the most laughs and joyous conversations out of any party games I have ever owned.
A great game.
