? Game explanation: In Crypto Collector, you will bid on digital art that you then give points to. Each player gets some starting money and tokens that you can use to bid in the game. The game is played in 7 rounds, with each round consisting of 4 stages. First (from round 2), you move the round marker to the next round, the next player becomes the starting player and the rightmost card of the art cards is discarded. After this, new owner cards (per round) are also placed. In phase 2, players take turns bidding for cards. You place your token (from low to high) with the cards you would like to have. You may place multiple tokens at 1 card. You may also place a token on the purchase card, you may then buy an art card. You can buy the art cards with money or with acquired owner cards. You can also turn in VIP tokens to purchase the card. You can also sell an owner card for cash. In the 3rd phase of the game, the cards that have been bid on are distributed among the players. If no one has placed a token with the card, the card is discarded. The player with the highest value of tokens may now pay the cost (as much as the tokens) to buy the card, or renounce the card. In the final phase, players receive income (see the round board for income). At the end of the game, you score points for your collected art cards, any collections, your personal bonuses, your remaining money and for each owner card still in possession. The player with the most points wins the game.

⭐ Our review: Crypto Collector is a little-known game, but we find it very fun to play. The concept is simple: bid and buy. We really like the drawings on the art cards, also nice that when you need a collection, the paintings blend together. It is not a difficult game, but you have to find the right tactics.

Crypto Collector by @smartapegames is a bidding game where you bid for cards in order to exchange them for Art cards!

In the game, you will take turns placing your bidding tokens to bid for “Owner” cards that will provide you with income on certain rounds and potentially instant rewards. Once all players have placed all of their bidding tokens, you’ll resolve the bids and get the cards

What is interesting about the bidding process is that you’ll have to place them in numerical order so all players have to place out their “1”s first before they can place out their “2”s. Additionally, any ties are resolved by the player who placed their bidding token first, giving both the first player and last an advantage as the first player can beat ties but the last player won’t be outbid

During the bidding process, you can also set your bidding token aside to buy an Art card, either with a set of “Owner” cards or with actual cash. As using the Owner cards is usually more efficient, you’ll have to balance your income with getting the art cards

Additionally, the Art cards come in sets and you get additional points if you manage to buy the full set! There are only a few cards of each type though so you’ll need to keep track of that if you’re trying to get the sets

We have enjoyed playing this game tremendously even though we weren’t fans of the theme (due to ecological reasons). If you’re looking for a quick bidding game, you can’t really go wrong with Crypto Collector!
