Summoner Wars (Second Edition): High Elves Faction Deck

Summoner Wars 2nd Edition ist die verbesserte englischsprachige Überarbeitung der ersten Edition.

Das High Elves Deck enthält zusätzlich zu den 34 High Elves Karten und 1 Übersichtskarte noch 3 Austauschkarten (Sera Eldwyn, Summoner of the Vanguards + 2x Ice Ram, Epic Event for the Polar Dwarves).

Drei der vier unterschiedlichen High Elves commons können ähnlich den Slivers (Remasuri) bei Magic the Gathering ihre Fähigkeiten (strong, tough, atone) kombinieren. Allerdings profitieren alle commons in 2 Feldern Entfernung von der Kombinierung, d.h. auch die des Gegenspielers.

Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass im Gegensatz zur ersten Edition jede Karte in der maximal zulässigen Anzahl im Deck enthalten ist (i.d.R. darf jede Common 4mal im Deck sein, wobei die Startkarten nicht dazu zählen).

Außerdem ist die Optik der Karten deutlich schöner als bei der ersten Edition.

Die Regeln sind in der neuen Edition auch etwas runder.

Alles in allem bringt die 2nd Edition neuen Wind in ein Spiel, das bei mir seit Jahren ungespielt vor sich hin staubt.

I finally had some time to try this faction online a little bit. Now, this is the faction that contains the new errata cards which makes this a must have for me. The faction itself is fine. The artwork is neat, but at the end of the day this is yet another high fantasy themed faction. Online the gameplay is really fun, but I can imagine this being a bit "too much" in person. With pretty much every card in the deck affecting the abilities of every common within an X-range, assessing the state of the board is a bit of a headache. It's an error-prone faction that makes it easy to miss something while playing in person. I would rate this higher, but I feel that it is a bit more convoluted than it should be.
