I gave this to my niece's 8-year-old son (we'll call him B) and he picked it up immediately! Very simple rules. Easy to resolve attacks and defense. Various strategies will work to win the game. B was very good at saving his gold and buying multipliers for attack, defense, and gold. I was surprised at how easily B found it to use addition first and then transition into simple multiplication when playing. The math is pretty simple, as the "multipliers" can be calculated by saying, "Each attack dice is now worth two points, and I have 4 attack dice. 2, 4, 6, 8... I have 8 attack points!" When he found out he could save up and buy the game box and use it as a die in the game, he started doing that a lot. We (me and his family) had a lot of fun playing Dice Fights with B.

Great balance of pace and complexity. I can play for fun with my 9 year old daughter. I can play competitively with multiple friends. And the ability of each player to bring their own set as its own expansion means you can have hundreds of dice on the table. It’s bonkers.

Easy to learn. Rolling a giant handful of dice is very satisfying! I recommend 3 players.
