In an attempt to be brief:

Art: I saw the box art as an ad and was instantly drawn in by the iconography. Each card looks like it has a world and story behind it. I’ve never been one to care about art, but this is the sole reason that got me interested in Paragons.

Gameplay: I got to experience a bit of the beta. It can take a little bit of time to learn a new aspect of TCG that this game provides. I still need the rules close by to ensure I understand some details of the game. The gameplay seemed simple enough, but I quickly realized that there is quite a depth in strategic play when you consider the battlefield set up, timing of attacks, when to use spell cards, which mercenaries to recruit, and more. There are no filler cards. Each one can serve a purpose and it’s up to you to determine how to use it effectively.

Price: This is a TCG-like game. It looks like a TCG, it plays like a TCG, but doesn’t cost like a TCG. I hate the idea of having to spend loads of money to be relevant in competitive play. Paragons is not that. You pay for the price of 1 box that covers 2 players (as well as a 1v1v1 format that I have yet to try). There’s no more buying of booster packs to try and one-up your opponent. No more spending ridiculous amounts of money to get the ultra rare card that ends up getting banned at the next tournament. All cards are given to you equally when you begin your play. You don’t need to buy and create your own deck to bring to a tournament. 1 Paragon box provides all you need to experience a TCG. That’s incredible.

Story: Authocracy has made it no secret that Paragons is set in a much larger world. The cards have people, creatures, or locations with a story behind it that will be developed to draw you into that unique world that’s not a rinse and repeat of the same old epic saga.

The designers: Authocracy is made for the players, by the players. They’re not just trying to take our money. They want to bring us into their creation, their games, and their stories. When you have artists and authors who have a vision to provide quality products for the players, you’re going to experience a unique game.

Overall: I’m sure my review is a bit cheesy for a 10/10, but with what I’ve seen so far from Paragons, it’s a distinct TCG that I’ve been waiting for that doesn’t drain my wallet. It’s exceeded my initial expectations and still surprises me with the depth and complexity of play. I can see this being a game I’ll regularly pull out for years to come.

Played on TTS. Some of the best art I have ever seen on cards. They even have foil editions of some cards.

This was ok - to much overhead to enjoy the game as is, there is some design work that could be done here - keywords instead of wall of texts and so on.
