Un jeu de course à objectif perso pour tout type de joueur, ou on peut bien se gêner. Jouer sans les extention. Mais il y a déjà une belle rejouabilité .
cthulhu always works
Not a bad game: backed it because I liked the art and theme, and many of the mechanics work well. The "Dune: Imperium-style" worker placement plus secret win objectives create some real tension (especially towards the end), and some of the card abilities are interesting and fun.
With that said, taking only two actions before having to reset (and often taking only one action and resetting) is just so tedious. The constant sacrificing of cards and taking on investigators means your "engine" builds very slowly, and the game gets really repetitive as a result. This is especially true if you have a Great Old One that requires a ton of something specific; for example, I needed 12 coffins so I spent basically the entire game using my monsters to sacrifice, calling workers back, and doing it again, and again, and again... It's not a bad game—I actually enjoyed my one play—but I don't think I need to play it again.
3 plays in (3 & 4 players) and really enjoying this game. It's rather fast paced, with lots of micro-decisions that can have a big impact (sure, a stealth cultist does not bring back an investigator, but it leave a location open for other players). And the different ancients call for different strategies so my 3 games have been quite distincts. The artwork is beautifull and the iconography is great.
My only gripe is that the rulebook is messy.
I have yet to try the mod (with special investigators) but it will be soon.
