Dorfromantik: The Duel

Mellow, yet interesting. Add in the modules right away for more fun.

I love tile laying games & was disappointed the original Dorfromantik game was co-op as I don't usually like co-ops. This was exciting as this is competitive and not too heavy, which is a good profile for a 2p game for me. The one play so far was just as expected. A pretty chilled-out yet challenging puzzle with just the right amount of frustrations built in to feel like a meaningful challenge.Excited to play more with the additional 2 modules. Pain Points: It is a tad longer than I would have liked (45m to 60m), but since it is so chill, I am fine with it. The worst complaint I have is the oversized box ( it comes in a regular TTR box but I could fit all the content in my Red Cathedral box). Also, while I appreciate the hex sizes, for the number of hexes you need to place between both people...you better have a luxurious dedicated game table! I love the idea of playing this competitively with 4p (comes with a simple variant)...but I would need to pay $90 for 2 copies of this light game AND get a new apartment to fit a gaming table big enough for FOUR villages— not happening.

Really relaxing and fun puzzle game, with some nice head to head mechanics. Set up is definitely a bit of a chore though, with only one player randomizing their token and the other needing to set theirs aside to view easily.
