Played this game once...never again. Felt like a dungeon crawler with all the fun parts removed. Pure Crap

Great tactical puzzle missions that do a very good job recreating the frenetic feel of a Mass Effect ground mission. Yes, this game is smaller in scope than the video games, but I think that works to the board game’s benefit, because the campaign is nice and quick and doesn’t hold you hostage for the next month if you want to play through it. I also really enjoyed the dice system, especially as a solo player. I could see how the diminishing dice might not work as well in a multiplayer game, but turns are fairly snappy and it doesn’t take long for each character to get a chance to take the lead. Overall, this game is great for Mass Effect fans, people who enjoy shorter, tighter experiences as opposed to lengthy rules heavy campaigns, and probably plays best as a solo or two player co op.

Far-right individuals are doing a review bombing just because the game uses pronouns. The right has shown once again they do not understand how weird they are and how media that is inherently leftist and humanist isn't for them.

Enjoyed how they implemented the spirit of the games. The artwork is cool. Mechanics are engaging. For fans of the franchise, this is worth playing through.

Really bad adaptation, there are much better offerings in the market.

It's great for ME fans

It doesn't have the essence of the videogame. On the other hand the videogame is a MASTERPIECE, so trying to make something worthy in board game form was a difficult task.

Don't spend the money here, invest in the videogame. A playful experience like few others in life.

Or you have a better possibility in the form of a board game. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/325494/iss-vanguard

I don't have a lot of experience with tactical combat games like this (and combat wasn't especially my favorite part of playing the ME video games anyway), but I'm enjoying this game so far. I find that each character's dialogue and actions align with my expectations after having spent hundreds of hours with them aboard the Normandy. I think this could be a great gateway game for some fans of the ME franchise who haven't played many board games. It's no big deal to command the squad as a solo player. I think it would scale well to 2-3 players (4 would work but if your crewmember goes down you might be waiting around for a while). I might update my rating after I've completed the campaign several times and experienced multiple pathways. I would definitely be down for a character add-on pack in the future (there are so many great characters that could be added: Mordin, Thane, Legion, and Javik would be some of my favorites, but really you couldn't go wrong with anyone. Heck, give me Blasto!) UPDATE: Changed from 7 to 6. Still liked the game, but I found some missions to go extremely long, and others were failed before every squadmate even took a single turn. HOUSE RULE: When Shepard goes down, they must be revived by the end of the round; if Shepard is down at the end of a round, it's a mission failure (rather than an insta-fail).

IMO perfectly captures the essence of the ME Games, a few minor niggles but a clear recommendation from me.
